Watch
Observe your baby closely. What things does s/he like to do? Which position does s/he prefer to sleep or nurse in?
Which are his or her "alert" times? How does s/he let you know he is sleepy, wet, or hungry?

Wait
Pause sometimes to watch your baby's body language. This little pause can help you to see and hear things that you might miss if
you just automatically do something such as offer a pacifier instead of actually observing the baby. Sometimes, a wee one can tell
us a lot more with their body language and facial expressions. That short pause can be refreshing!

Wonder
Allow yourself to be continually surprised by your baby. This is an entirely new little human, with a full spectrum of personality.
It is sometimes tempting to have our own expectations about what the baby wants, likes or needs. Expecting surprises will cushion the shock of this discovery!
