Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can a smart child have a speech or language problem?
A. Yes. Speech and language lags and problems are not indicators of intelligence levels. However, if a speech or language problem goes undetected it may be frustrating for the child and cause them difficulty in learning situations like asking questions, making friends, mastering new skills and later on, in school.

Q. Should I wait until my child starts school to seek help with speech and language problems?
A. No. If you think your toddler or preschooler may have a problem, call right away. Often early detection and treatment can ensure better beginnings for school. Early detection and treatment also gives the child more time to develop the skills needed for school before they embark on this very important new stage of learning.
